Few years ago, there was no definition for Utility Engineering. Now it is gaining world-wide attention and acclaim, and Utility Engineering has been recognized as a “new” field of civil practice: “Utility Engineering is a branch of Civil Engineering that focuses on the plan, position, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and asset management of any and all utility systems, as well as the interaction between utility infrastructure and other civil infrastructure.”
As the Utility Engineer for your Project, VNHA coordinates and works with the utility purveyors to improve the reliability of electricity, communications, water, and sewer services for the project. For existing sites we strive to find ways to save energy through such tasks as updating old equipment, rerouting flow, or implementing more energy-efficient policies and/or equipment.
