Centennial Park

Van Note-Harvey provided engineering design, and construction administration and observation services for the construction of Centennial Park, located on two beachfront blocks in the Borough of Wildwood Crest.

Phase 1 of this 2.5 acre redevelopment project included site clearing and demolition, free form concrete sidewalks/fitness paths, landscaping and lighting, topsoil and sod restoration, and replacement of the storm sewer outfall truck line located beneath the park. Other site improvements included ADA access improvements, an automatic irrigation system, elevated landscape walls and planters, bike racks, removable bollards, trash receptacles, and benches.

Phase 2 consisted of construction of an ADA accessible elevated outdoor reinforced concrete bandstand, with stage lights, a custom fabric canopy mounted to elevated columns with custom letters (one letter on each pole) spelling out “CREST”, quick electric connection for live concerts, and a dancing platform. The bandstand is centrally located within the park, with the beach as a backdrop.

Centennial Park is the location of the popular Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series, hosting musical acts each Wednesday and Saturday evenings from late June to Labor Day weekend. The park is also regularly used for various fitness activities, including group exercise classes and yoga groups.
