Engineer

Cape May Court House

VNHA currently has an opening in its Cape May Court House office for a full-time Engineer. Primary responsibilities include the completion of site design of road and utility projects, including drawings, supporting calculations, and report writing. Under direction from the department manager, the applicant is expected to compete site design of road and utility projects, all within budgetary and time deadlines. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in civil engineering Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 or later Proficiency in road layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, erosion control, municipal and land use regulatory approvals, etc. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver’s license (clean record) NJ Professional Engineer’s License; NICET certification; and/or experience with land use permitting and/or working on public works projects a plus but not required.

Construction Observor/Inspector

VNHA currently has an opening in its Cape May Court House office for a full-time Construction Inspector. Primary responsibilities include construction observation of various projects. Under direction from the department manager, the applicant is expected to provide construction observation for private sector and Public Agency Capital Improvement Infrastructure Projects, including water supply and distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection and treatment systems, storm sewer systems, and pavement construction. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED Minimum ten (10) years’ experience with heavy civil construction projects Good communications skills with the ability to work with others and interface with the public Self-motivated, organized, and focused, with good attention to detail Valid driver’s license (clean record) RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Act in the capacity of Resident Project Representative to assist Engineer in providing extensive observation of construction project(s) and serve as Engineer’s liaison with Contractor • Attend pre-construction and weekly job progress meetings • Conduct on-site observations of the work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the project work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. • Provide and maintain all records related to the project in question, including daily quantities. • Keep a diary or log book of all observations and daily activities for ongoing work and provide Engineer with daily reports to include all labor trades and equipment supplied by Contractor. • Review applications for payment with Contractor and confer with Engineer on recommendations for progress payments. • Prepare a final punch list at substantial completion and perform final project review for project closeout. NICET certification a plus but not required.

AutoCAD Technician

VNHA currently has an opening in its Cape May Court House office for a full-time AutoCAD Technician. Primary responsibilities include the Preparation of surveying and engineering CAD plans. Under direction of the department manager, the applicant is expected to perform technically complex survey and engineering duties, including preparation of all types of CAD drawings (survey plans, site plans, utility plans, and road plays), coordinate with survey field crew(s), complete projects within budgetary and time deadlines, as well as similar duties as needed. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED Minimum of three (3) years recent experience Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 or later Processing of electronic field book entries for importing into CAD platform Strong math and computer skills Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently Valid driver’s license (clean record) Experience with MicroStation and any survey and/or engineering-related college coursework a plus but not required.

Administrative Assistant

VNHA currently has an opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant. Primary responsibilities include word processing of all outgoing correspondence, proposals, reports, etc. Under direction from the department manager, the applicant is expected to assist all company managers and technical staff with their daily work processing and office support needs, as well as help to maintain and organize archive files. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) Minimum of three (3) years recent experience Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills Good time-management skills, with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver’s license (clean record) Flexible schedule (some after-hours work occasionally required) RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Word processing, including production of correspondence, proposals, reports, etc. Front desk / receptionist coverage, as needed. Maintenance of various record-keeping databases. Maintenance of all project-related filing. Understanding and enforcement of company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Experience in Access and Photoshop a plus but not required.
